Default Monte Carlo Convertible.......?

....I am just curious. Does anyone have an idea or theory as to why
GM never made a factory Monte Carlo Convertible ? I think, I've seen photos from the 80's of Concept convertibles but I'm not sure.
I have also seen some really bad attempts of people making their own version of a rag-top MC.
Maybe someone has a photo of one ( concept ) ?
Theories anyone ?

I'm sure that cost had something to do with it, but to be honest I'm not sure. I personally like t-tops though. I kinda think it would have been neat if they made the 5th gen with t-tops, lol.

To me, it's because the Monte Carlo was always about having a luxury car, more than a sports car. So having a convertible just didn't fit with the styling.

Though they did try to get it to be sporty before it was killed off.

Default MC Convertible....?

.....I've been doing a little research and the only other convertible
along the same frame as a MC couldv'e been the early 70's to 76 Buick Regal or Century but they were huge. I'm sure I've seen a few over the years ? There is a All American (?) version in 1976
for the Century Custom Coupe....but I digress.
Yes, the T-Tops are great looking. Would've been a good looking option for the last generation MC's
Expenses were probably the reason that we never seen one developed.
