Never heard of them going out that quick. Can you check to see if you are getting power with a continuity tester first inside the lighter and then outside on the wires?

If good on the wires then it is a bad lighter outlet and needs to be replaced. If not good at the wires just outside the lighter it is probably going to be closer to the fuse block. Most chances is the lighter outlet is broken and needs to be replaced.

I second that. I know the wiring of the 06-7 cig plugs and I imagine its the came. If your front works, but your rear doesnt, you could pretty much bet on the lighter being pooched or, the wiring harness has come off the back as the front and back use the same cuircuit with a 10A fuse.

If your a smoker the lighters or sockets tend to wear out. It's not that they actually wear out, it's more the heating/cooling, heating/cooling process of using the lighter. A build up of corrosion makes it so the lighter and/or socket doesn't work now cause of the corrosion.

Manny, did you put in a new socket ? New Lighter ?
Is the rear one still working ? Did you re-check the fuse ?
(Wet you finger, & put it in the socket : )
No, just kidding

Youneed 2 find out if the center contact has 12 Volts by using a Volt meter, & if it has a good ground. Some lighter use a 20 or 30 amp fuse .
When I have a problem like that I stop in @ a garage, & ask one of the tech's, or stop by a stereo install shop, & usually they will give you some help. Good Luck, `Space

So it sounds like you replaced the whole cig lighter unit. Did you test if you are getting electricity to that unit yet?
