good question i dont think i have ever seen our monte style with one

Most places that do chroming or polishing should be able to take the case off and clean it up / chrome it

If you are doing it locally, you will also have to find an alternator shop. There is one wire in there that needs to be disconnected before you can get one half of the case all the way off.
