Christmas/ Birthday
Hello forum,
As you all know, Christmas is just around the corner. However, my birthday is only four days after Christmas. My parents want me to start making a list of things I might want, but they're on a budget, like $700 for both Christmas and my birthday. I just need some ideas of some things that I could put on there that would look good, but not tacky. Things I already have:
-K$N Cold Air Intake (for the 3800 series V6) =>$300
-Tail light tint film (not VHT spray because I want to be able to take it off if I get in trouble.) =>$50
-Plasmaglow lightning eyes headlight kit =>$50
I would like to get one of those Monte Carlo windshield decals, but I'm stuck on whether I want one that says "Monte Carlo" in the cursive with SS in red letters, or one that just says "Monte Carlo" in the block letters.
Thanks,
Tyler

First, happy early birthday.
But more to the point. I would save the tail light tinting for last, or maybe even forget it. Depends on what the cops are like in your area. I've heard a lot of people are being harassed by the cops for tinted tail lights. The 2000 -2007 tail lights don't come apart easily. It would be a lot of wasted time and effort if you tinted them; only to have the cops tell you to remove it.
If you really want tinted tail lights, maybe find a good used set at a junk yard or online. That way if the cops get on your case, you can simply swap in the originals.
If your parents are on a budget, cut them a break. Don't ask for everything all at once. Choose the one you really want to do first. Then save up for the rest if you can.

Thanks for the reply and early birthday wish! I've been researching the tinted tail lights and they aren't illegal, just as long as the same color shines through the tint and is visible during the day. It isn't very dark either. I chose the film so if the cops do get on my case, i can simply take it off. And putting the film on doesn't require me to take off the whole tail light. <--Just some things I have read online.
What do you think about interior LEDs? Mainly in the vents, by the pedals, and by the passengers feet. That doesn't cost alot of money, just alot of time.

Take the K&N FIPK off the list and put:

And even look into one of their downpipes. Good 1-2 combo to have.

Thanks for the suggestion Chibi! And if I could save up enough money to put some MagnaFlow or Borla exhaust on, I'd be ALL over that! lol It's expensive.
Now, the Wizaired Cold Air Induction System, is that the CAI and the insulated box, or just the box? If it's both, that would be awesome because it's $100 cheaper, but does more.
Thanks for all the help, by the way! I'm kindof new to performance stuff on cars.

You have to add the cone, it's an option when ordering $40 for a cone.
But it comes with everything you need to mount it to the car for cheaper than the K&N and it works 1000x better.
