Changing Steering Wheels?
What would be involved in changing a steering wheel in an '06? I ask because on mine, the previous owner had one of those turning **** things and he must have used a vice to clamp it on there cause I now have the imprints of the places where the thing grabbed the wheel and it just looks/feels off.
Seeing that a leather one would be around $150 (Mine is the regular kind) I wouldn't mind putting that kind of money into it but wondered how to go about it. I do have the cruise control switches on the left side of it but do not have the controls for the radio on the right side (unfortunately, my wife's '06 Vue has them and I like it lol). Obviously airbag too.

Someone here did that a couple of years ago... you have to take the turn signal loose, figure out which wire is the air bag and unplug it (or maybe you could just take the battery out of the car), and then take the wheel apart (don't know exactly how on those wheels) and then there should just be one bolt that holds the steering wheel to the column, and you'll need a puller (I just use a harmonic balancer puller myself, rent one at Auto Zone, I don't know how long of a bolt you'll need), and take it off, mount a new one, hook it all back up.
Now note 2 things. Some really strong guys can just rip a steering wheel right off. I'd be scared to knock my teeth out if I tried. 2, I've removed 3 steering wheels in my entire life. A 93 Silverado, no air bag, a '50 Chevrolet 3100 truck, no air bag, and a 1968 Ford Torino, of course, no air bag. I don't know what may be different when you start messing with cruise control and radio controls and air bags in modern steering wheels.

I know a probably cheaper and easier solution??
What if you took some foam, and cut strips to wrap into the sections that are inprinted like that (maybe something a little harder??) And then get a WheelSkin leather steering wheel wrap to go over it?
