6th Gen ('00-'05): a/c not cooling
That is great! What is funny is I read this when you first posted and was going to suggest that. Why you ask?
I had the same problem with mine this year. This is a rare reason for loss of Freon but a cheap and easy one. Stay cool!

I have recently pulled my Monte Carlo out of the field and got it back up and going when I parked it it was due to a blown motor everything worked great when I put the new motor in it after 5 years of sitting I had some security issues could not read the key and so on ultimately I found out they had tried to bypass the security key down by the body control module irie did the wiring to where it could read the key now I am having an issue with my temperature gauge and AC cutting out I will go down the road everything working and all at once my temperature gauge bottoms out too cold and my AC turns off I have to pull the PCM fuse to get it to reset but I have to do this with the key turned on once I do this everything works great again for a while I am trying to figure out what is going on with this car do I have to replace the PCM and if so what is a cheap and easy way or can I possibly run an older style AC switched it is a two wire tied into the AC relay and the compressor so that it still Cycles in and out with the proper pressure ranges sorry for any typos using my phone and it's talk-to-text app
