Brake pad replacement...

What kind of pads came on our cars? Semi-metallic? Ceramic? I'm getting ready to buy new pads from brakeperformance.com and I want to try and get as close to OEM as possible. I'm just replacing pads on the front and both rotors and pads in the rear.

just get ceramic they will almost prevent most all the brake dust that you get on your paint

I'd go with Ceramic pads ......
Semi-metallic brake pads are standard on most new cars, primarily because of their lower cost. However, because Ceramic are harder they will wear down the brake rotor more over time, requiring that the rotor itself be replaced more quickly. Semi-metallic pads are also prone to make noise intermittently whenever a metallic shard is exposed and rubs against the rotor. They will continue to produce noise until the shard, or the rotor, is worn down sufficiently. Ceramic pads are more expensive and wear down more quickly.

I agree Ceramic Pads are the only way to go. While generally costing more they last longer, create less and lighter dust and can take higher temperature ranges. Time for the upgrade over the cheapy OEM semi-metallic's..........
