I know you've been unsure about that but honestly your best opportunity was to have the body shop remove the bracket and repair the holes when you had the front end repainted. You can always get plugs but just be careful of the plate bracket scratching the new paint over time. I know my old plate bracket had scratched the clear coat around its perimeter so if it's removed you have a "ring" of scratches in the clear coat where the bracket used to be.

Yeah I completely understand if you're more comfortable leaving it on, especially since a front plate is the law in NY. SO glad we don't have them in MI.
