yea it blew.
but not because of the head gasket, but it did go after what happened! i was driving home from chicago to minnesota and about 10 miles after i cross the minnesota border i notice my temp gauge sprinting up to 260. this was in the middle of january. and i was going about 70 on the interstate at about 12 in the morning. and before i can really think as to what's happening my temp gauge goes back down. hmm ok! get on level terrain again cruising, my car goes goes into over drive decreasing RPM's and i notice a nasty shaking. and huge loss of power and i had 100 more miles to go.
Ending result:
coil pack for cylinders 2 and 5 blew
tip of the spark plug in cylinder 5 blew up inside the cylinder(hence melted piston)
and the head gasket blew.
but she still brought me home for 100 miles! we were limping but she did it! haha 4 cylinder monte carlo..

I'm sure happy with the NEW Monte Carlo! I wouldn't have it any other way!

What's REALLY astounding is the before and after picures of my Mustang before being converted into a full ROUSH... Maybe another time!

I looked at your pics before I read it was a trade, and I thought to myself "This guy did an awesomely accurate dale jr replica, holy crap."

When I think about it now... It wouldn't actually be that difficult exteriorly to do it. The Dale Jr. decals are on ebay for around 80 dollars as are the Dale Jr. rims. The only issue would have been finding the the high sports ground effects package and of course, that SUPERCHARGED 3.8Litre engine! However, I wouldn't have the moonroof or the leather interior. I think I got a sweet deal trading mine in and getting all that I ever wanted to do to the LS and saving some $$$$ in the end.

Default ROUSH Stang

Hope nobody minds, but here are some before and after pics of my "OTHER" car...

Because it's such an AMAZING transformation, I figured "car guys" (and gals) could really enjoy it! Hope I don't get too much flack :p

It's all about having a vision for a particular car and seeing that vision through, which is what I did. I actually had more plans for my Monte LS, but instead of pouring money into it, I decided to get an actual sports car and keep the Monte as a DD.

Here's some engine bay before and after pieces too... you didn't specify before and after what!!! :p Again, enjoy!!

Eventually I'd like to do some similiar pieces for the Monte Carlo, we will see in the future... but engine bay pieces are difficult to come by.
