So, after the snow on the 25th, it rained on the 26th. I had to go run some errands that day and so I drove down the main street in town. While commuting, I caught two rocks to my windshield from other people's tires. The first (driver's side) was minor but the second (passenger side) was weak (had stress fractures on either side) and it quickly developed a crack that RAN across the windshield towards the other chip. The result, insurance phone call and glass replacement appointment for this afternoon. I am waiting on the call at this very moment...

I thought almost all insurance companies offer free windshield replacement.

Mine does!

`Tommy,
Again, I sorry to see your damage,
but when bad things happen to me, I always
think that things could be worse.
I'm sure the over 200 people in the State of Virgina would
trade you problems.
I hope that you can get good people to repair your damage.
I wish you good luck in weather, and in life.

yup, full coverage (and some companies have full coverage w/o glass and you have to select the glass coverage endorsement)...
i agree, i am happy to not be in that situation again... i am praying for them as well, having lived through tornados in my towns!

and for getting fixed, i am just glad i did not have my badging put on my windshield the week before last when i was thinking of scheduling it in. that would have been another headache to deal with!

Ouch man, cracks aren't fun.

Hey, atleast you get a new one without any chips in it, I know that there's a big difference between my windshield and the windshield in the Camaro...

It's true -nice, clean glass! (pics from the process)
the only thing i am concerned about is that along the top edge, the glass doesn't look to have the natural curvature to it... the light and reflections play funny off of it... but i am hoping that is because the glass hasn't set yet

(yes, my car is dirty... STUPID SNOW!)...
