I'd keep it stock and detail it with a good buff to get all of the scratches out of the paint. When you show a car the key to winning a judged show with a newer car is every inch of the car needs to be perfectly clean - every nook and cranny of the engine compartment. I have shown my red 03 Monte for 7 years now and have placed in almost every show I entered. I am also I judge for one local car show promoter. That is my opinion, but you can do what you want with your car. I only have 3 mods (CAI, exhaust, & decals) and that is the limit if you want to keep your car in a stock class.

Awesome Job on the wins at the car shows!

If you have a favorite nascar driver, get a dale sr 3x5 flag and a nascar checker flag to put around your car at the shows like I do, Its nice to do a theme around a vehicle, and you can do a dale sr 1:24 scale car and put it somewhere in your car,

You can do little checker flags that are on a string around your car at shows as well, go to ebay and type in checker flag, you will see some cool little things,

On the trunk cover There is a wesite that has one for the impalas that may work for your monte carlo that is real similar, I will post the link for you.

Also for that sun in florida go with a $50 car cover and you can do a little lock on them so nobody just takes your cover off, it will keep your car nice and cool and the sun won't beat on your car as much, just ask somebody at a local autoparts store.

Here is the linl for a trunk cover

http://www.streettrendsinc.com/Merch...ory_Code=00INT

it should work with no problems, Its just a little bit rounder on the top corners than mine, and I heard that these could be ordered through the chevy dealership parts store, try that
and I don't think it be tough to return this trunk liner if you didn't like it just call and ask them if it be easy to return if you were unhappy with the fit.

hey thanks! i love your car btw. it looks awesome!

its funny that you said that bcuz i was just thinking while i was unpacking that since i'm gonna have my trunk open at the shows, i could like put a lot of my dale senior and nascar memorabilia in the trunk all set up nice and all.

But thanks for the ideas bout the flags, I never thought about that lol. And thanks for the link, I’ll keep that in mind, but I’m hoping that Tim on here will make another Dale Senior trunk panel after he makes one for chris.

Ha I didn’t know that some car covers came with locks!? That’s awesome but I guess it makes sense lol. I’ll start driving around probably next week and see who has what around here.

You mention the 3.2 pulley... you do mean that you will have ALL the supporting modifications for that also correct? (a 3.2 isn't easy to get on knock free)

It really depends on who is running the show, some promoters are more lenient than others. I had an 05 Mustang V-6 and I showed it as stock but I had a bunch of bolt ons...wheels, CAI, stripes, side mirror covers, exhaust, 06 pony grill...and it stayed in the stock class. There was this one guy who was competing against me with an 06 Mustang GT and he slapped a Saleen supercharger on it - now that is a MAJOR mod and shouldn't have been in the stock class.

I'm sure he knows how to do all of that, but just don't let him assume that your car can drop pulleys without properly testing that first. I don't want you to go and chip some pistons because he said "trust me"

ohh okay. so pretty much just have a talk with the people who are running the shows beforehand and check out the rules with them?
