My father in law had a 1983 Monte Carlo SS that he used to show on the car circuit. When he passed in 2011 I tried buying it from my MIL but she refused because she thought I was just trying to give her money, sigh. It ended up being sold to an older couple who continued to show it but that was the last I heard of it.

My wife was going through some things yesterday and found the original build sheet with vin.

I hopped on carfax and damn did that car do some traveling, from pa, to florida, georgia and now westwood Mass. Last registered and inspected in 2019.

I was on hold with mass rmv yesterday for over an hour and got disconnected and haven't called back.

I would like to reach out and see if they are interested in selling it so I can bring it back to the family.

I wasn't sure if anyone knew of any MC clubs in the area that I could reach out to or if there were any members in the area that have seen this car, it is very distinct.

Sorry to hear about your struggle trying to find the car. You have the VIN, I would post that in your search (it is ultimately NOT confidential/private information). I would also consider leveraging Facebook Monte Carlo groups to help your search.
