I dont have and not had a catalytic converter for 5years. I have a little extra $. And was wondering should i go on and put one on and another thing at times at a stop light when i punch it a little white smoke come out my exhaust pipes... is this because my lack of catalytic converter or dobu believe oil is escaping the cylinder (s).
....
And passing a smoke check legally is not a factor for me

White smoke? Or blue? Did it smell like oil? Check your antifreeze.

Okay, so you're losing coolant. Could be an intake gasket failure, or possibly a head gasket failure. Make sure your oil doesn't look milky.

you can also take the radiator cap off and turn the car on to see if the coolant bubbles,if so its a headgasket, thats how I figured out I had one

but as far as the cat. goes id go without it,its just another thing to have troubles with in the long run,but many ppl have other opinions that's why we are all here lol
