Hey Man, sorry, I was wrong...I was all excited, and ready to show you, but bummer, the ad i was thinking about that said 205HP was for a 1991 Camaro Z28 5.0L V8...IDK why I was thinking it was a 80 something Monte Carlo. It was in the thread titled Chevy Ad's take a trip and click. oops sorry dude for the mis info. I checked google, and your right your at 180HP...could not find out your torque spec though, but I would have never guessed you were 50ft lbs less than him...WOW. that seems like a lot. But then again technology is amazing. The Power they get out of smaller engines now days is pretty incredible.

So yea, Auto or not, the Firebird would beat you...

For the upscale Monte Carlo SS, GM fitted a 305 V8 as standard equipment. Personally I think GM’s 3.8 Turbo found in the GN would have been a welcomed addition to the SS, but the V8 that GM decided to use is better than the standard V6. In stock trim, it puts out an adequate 190 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque; respectable for a 1987 emissions controlled vehicle.

The 1987 Monte Carlo is fairly easy to drive, despite its girth. Thanks in part to the light steering and a smooth shifting automatic transmission (only transmission available). The V8 may not be as powerful as a current Camaro or even a 3.0 DOHC Ford Taurus, but its got plenty of giddy-up and go thanks to good low-down torque. The ride is firmer than the standard Monte Carlo, but the SS’s suspension is still soft enough to soak up small bumps and road impurities. Overall, handling is fair, thanks to stiffer springs, and revised shock valving; still this is no sports car by any stretch of the imagination.
During a cruise through the Avenue of the Giants in Northern California, I had a hard time keeping this car steady. The Aerocoupe feels big and rolls significantly on anything but the straightest of roads.

Don't know if there is any truth to this, but I came across it online.
