General Monte Carlo Talk Talk about the Monte Carlo. Does not have to be your Monte. Can include pics and games.

It depends on what you're trying to get from you picture, if you just want a reflection shot then yes. But if you want to get direct light/reflection shot, not so much. The reason I suggested a direct reflection shot is so they guy who asked about how well the Ultimate compound did on removing the scratches could see because a direct light shot would show any scratches that remained whereas a simple reflection shot can make even the most swirled up car look lovely. Here's a great example:

This is my buddy's Acura TSX that I detailed for him. Check out how bad the swirls are

Here's a reflection shot taken at the same time as the picture above

Looks like I already detailed it huh?

And here's a direct light shot once I was done with it

Indirect light > direct light for reflection shots
direct light > indirect light for showing level of correction achieved

when you get done, the sun is going down and it looks amazing. you cant really tell untill the next day, in the sun.

id like to try that "ultimate compound" cause i just used the swirl x stuff and its only a temporary fix. it looks as if you are doings something amazing as you working, but a week later it gets washed off and looks like crap again.
Hah, you don't need to tell me that, I can log 8+hrs on my details easily and I use a machine!

The reason your car looks like crap again is because those products contain fillers which don't remove the defect at all, they simply fill it in and like you said it only takes a couple washes for the fillers to get washed away and you're right back where you started.
