you know what? i think my LS would make a great candidate for a swap like that if the auto ever gives me crap, if i could find a donor car for the engine / trans / pedals / shifter, well i think it would be worth a shot, caus i know that by the time the LS fails on me, it aint gonna be worth a ton anyways, so why not have some fun & see what happens ever scince this thread started & i looked through the wiki articles ive been on the lookout for a donor olds / pontiac

where can u find any of the 5 speeds?

 

ok so i purchased an achieva with the w41 and a 5 speed. the engine is toast but the transmission is good. it has the 282 getrag in it. you guys were saying the 284 would bolt up to the 3.1... so i was wondering if the 282 would boltup to the 3.1 engine. i am willing to do all the fab work i just would like to know if it willl bolt up to the engine. im on my second auto in my car and its on its last leg. if anyone has some info it would be great!

 

Anyone kno a way to get around the tranny mount issue i dont hav a welder and that is my only hiccup in the swap

 

what is this trany mount issue? pictures or more info about it please. one of my friends installed the 284 in his 96 Z34 I dont recall any issues.

wow old thread... go figure I just found a 3.1 / 5 speed lumina in the junkyard last Friday! first one I've actually seen in the junkyard. and my last post in here was 5 years ago so I've been casually looking for that long, lol.
