I just bought a 2002 monte SS w/only 40000mi from a friendbecause my 07 Grand Prix died they both have 3800 but to my disappointment the Grad Prix would blow it away. I have even chipped it and the Grand Prix was stock.
That would be to the Aluminum Intake Manifold with a better port job, Better tuning on the electronics end, and higher ratio rockers.

I don't know if the 07 was supercharged, but the Gen V superchargers given to the GP's is much better. In fact it is is often stated better than a Stage 3 ported/polished Gen III found on the 04 and 05 Monte's.

I read that the 3800 was voted the engine of the century by one of the major magazines.

I belive Space has the link to that somewhere.
dont want to step on any toes, but here is the link - Ward's ten best - scroll to the bottom for ten best of the 20th century.

No supercharger. Since my lastpost I re-installed the program and drove it around and it seemed closer to the GP now I am going to do the exhaust.

Just to clarify this, it is listed in the top 10 of the century so it is deffinately there, but the list is in alphabetical order, not in top 10 order. I've heard that it was listed as the number 1 engine as well from multiple sources.
