Default 2005 Monte Carlo Complaints...

Hey, I have a 2005 Monte Carlo LT that I got brand new in Aug. of 05. Does anyone elses car have starting issues? For example, I will turn the key over, and the starter turns over for 10 seconds before starting? Also, sometimes it starts, and by the time I put it in gear, the car dies.... ....Plus my volume buttons on the steering wheel have faded, and the tune button on the radio is clear by now. Hmmm oh and when I open my drivers door in cold weather, it clicks and sounds like it is going to fall off. Ohhh and sometimes at idle, it shakes..........Just some complaints...wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. I won't even touch on how slow it is....

Thanks for any input

Sounds like a tune up is in order, plugs , wires, possibly fuel filter. Steering wheel and radio button sounds like it wore off due to excessive use, ie...changing stations or volume a lot.

I second that, if under warranty, let them worry about it. If not, Get an injector flush, plugs/wires are always the best place to start if misfiring/shaking.

Cheers

Haha, wow. Today I went to open my trunk, nothing happened. I went to turn my car on, nothing except for a buzzing noise. No lights were left on, but it seems a dead battery. However, the little lights by the air controls are dimly lit even though my key isn't in the ignition. ?!??! I am waiting for my boyfriend to get home and tell me if it's my battery or if I should be calling road side assistance to take this thing away!!!! It won't stop buzzing..sounds like it's coming from behind the ignition. And if I turn my hazards on, first it gives a longgggg buzz then they turn on at like 100 mph..

I will bring it in for warrenty work...Like I said I am just too lazy to do so and they stopped giving loaner cars! I was just curious if anyone else had issues. Thanks for the welcome! And I just rolled 22,000 miles.......

You're hard starting issue could be when you bought gas, you also got an added bonus of water. Not a good thing.

A little carb/injector cleaner in the tank may solve this problem?

The door "Clicking" when you open it may very well mean the dor hinges need greased? They do wear and usually the driver's door hinges wear the most cause that door get's used more.

The "No Start" today could mean the battery terminals need a good cleaning. Some times things are fine, some times not. The car isn't getting the voltage from the battery it needs. Once the battery terminals are cleaned good, this goes away.
