How tough is it to change out the power steering pump on the 3.8L. Just to check the fluid level I had to remove the brace between the shock towers and then the radiator overflow reservior. It's looking like a chore but I would like opinions from those who have done it.

Since new the power steering pump whined until at 80,000 it died. It's hard to believe that nobody has changed one out before me?????

 

I removed the bolts on my power streering pump to move it out of the way to get to the last water pump bolt. Pretty easy really, two bolts, one on top, you have to feel around with a finger to find the hidden bottom bolt through the pulley holes. I had the alternator off and out of the way too. I did not unhook any power steering hoses though so I can't give you any insight there.
