I took the front brake calipers off my Monte Carlo and i cant decide which of the two pin/bolts goes in which hole, top or bottom.

One is a plain steel shaft while the other has a rubber o-ring sleeve thing at the end of it. They both seem to go into both holes fine. They are the same length.

 

The screw in caliper pins. I'm tired wet hungry and its dark. Help me pweas.

 

both should be able to go either top or bottom. you might just need to line up the caliper to the bracket and push the caliper pin in. there should be a rubber boot for the pin to go in. clean up the pin first and rub some grease on the pin before sliding in the calipers and that should help guide the pin in.

 

They seemed to both go in both holes even though one was flat sided and had an oring on the end. Dont know why just one does.

In the rear the one with the rubber oring sleeve thing on the end was on the top so i just did it like that on the front also.

I cleaned and greased everything up real good.
