Default 2001 Vs 2000 parts interchangeability?

Greetings,

I have a 2001 Monte Carlo SS. A buddy of mine has the 2000 MC SS. He recently put a tonne of work into it but no longer wants the car. He wants to let it go for a steal. The car has some issues, mostly body but if I can get it for a parts car, I would be happy. If they are not that interchangeable, I would rather spend the dough on my new motorcycle.

I am wondering how interchangeable the parts are between the 2000 and 2001

99.9% of the car is exactly the same.

I have noticed a few "quirks" that appear only in my 2000.

Both cars should have a 3800, other then some minor issues, they are the same (and more then likely the same for what you're after).

I believe the front cradle is different.

In 2000 the stock downpipe is different.

There are a few things in different places in the engine bay. I have a California emissions package on my engine, I don't know if they did that for any other years.

The trunk lining is different.

Apparently the oil drain pan bolt is 13mm and not 15 we just found out in the oil change thread lol.

Chibi, I almost wonder if there should be a special thread that notates some of the oddball differences in the '00 Monte. Seems there are a lot of them (as you said at the Monte Nats, it's like GM threw it together then then the following year refined it).

There are probably a few changes from 00 to 01 but nothing that big. Like chibi said 99.9% should fit. If you buy it are you gonna part it out? Let us know.
