Hi Brian,
I would do a complete search of your Monte 4 Drugs LOL Maybe there's METH in the Tank

What really matters is that it's safe/runs good & that you like your Monte and what you paid for it...Please post any additional information you find about your Monte...

Good Luck & EnJoy your Monte Carlo

[quote=zipper;334791]They're not the same thing because Grand Am's are N-body's but Grand Prix's are W-body's.

Interesting.. I thought that since they took a similar powertrain, then they were the same. But I guess not.. Come to think of it, when my uncles had their 2005 Pontiac Astek, (I know, barf..) it had the 3.4L engine also. I know that's not a W-Body..

If it whistles when you step on the gas you could have a gasket leak in your throttle body

no offence taken.I beleive it is.the only things ive seen modded ,it looks like the bottom of the airbox has been opened up and that would explaine the loud intake, now I know why it rides so hard.2 sets of spring spacers in each spring.there going. probably was used to catch speeders as a plane car.they left part of a funny antena inside and the wiring for the blue lights.Well I like it anyways its better on gas than my durango and I beleive a little better than the Mark 8 I just got rid of.and I drive 40 miles each way to work so its gonna pay for its self.

Well the only thing in the powertrain that's similar between a GA and a Monte would be the 3400, but the 3400 mounts differently in the GA. Also, the tranny's are different. GA's have a 4T40E or a 4T45E, while 6th gen Monte's have a 4T65E.

The only thing the 99-05 grand am shared with the grand prix was exterior styling.

Basicdumbass... Is it possible the air box was cut out to make room for the police siren (speaker)?
