I just bought this a month ago. I know it has 3.4 in it.owed many Gm's but I just found out it was used by the Florida Highway Patrol.I guess under cover car .this car has alot of go to it.I meen alot.I just wonder what been done to the motor to get it to run like this . any ideas? At least now I know why it has 200,000 miles on it and clean as a hell all new heavy duty parts under the front and rear.still has the wiring for the lights in the trunk and was missing the factory radio all together and some other weird parts here and there.anyways what could they have done to this engine ? I cal it and LS-SSP lol

post some engine bay pics, they probably have a tune but i would guess it's not a whole lot different from any other 3.4..

They probably have a turbo on it, shorter gear ratios, or a supercharger perhaps.. It seems like the regular 3.4 has to go above 2,000 RPM before the car starts to move, at least that's how it seems on my car. Of course, it seems like I baby my car more than I should to squeeze as much MPG as I can out of it..

 

you have to remember it's on a 3400 tho, that's hard to turbo or supercharge, even for a police station.

There was no police package for the 2000 Monte Carlo by GM, but it could be a confiscated Drug running (or other crimes) Monte Carlo that the court assigned to the Police & they did or a shop did the modification for corvert/undercover activities...

Theres no turbo or supercharger.but the airbox gets pretty loud when you put your foot into it. Im thinking may be a chip or computer change . Im gonna get some pics today .

there's not really a chip for the v6's so that would rule that out, there would be a tune and some sort of intake.
