Welcome.

If you '91 Beretta had a 3.1 v6, then your current 3.4 Monte is a very close cousin.

There are some items that you can do to gain more power on a 3.4. I know for the Montes, the 3.8 is more commonly modded. But look around here and even check out some N-body folks for ideas.

You're exactly right about the "close cousins" part. As soon as i drive it for the first time, the first thing i thought was that it drove just like a bigger version of my beretta. i do miss that car though...someone rear ended it
