Just wondering if any of you have taken off the engine cover. I was detailing under the cover tonight and decided to leave it off for 2 reason.

#1, Should help release some of the heat from this bad LS4
#2, It simply looks much better.

Anyone else?

 

No looks 'cleaner' with the cover on, and it holds almost no heat.

 

You think it looks better? Ive taken it off, but forget how it looked, I dont remember any impressive chrome manifold or anything. Have you considered painting the cover?

 

Yes I think they look better with the cover on rather than off.

 

yah, i've seen some people take their covers off their engines, but i think it looks better with it, makes it look cleaner

 

I leave mine off. I like to see the ENGINE, not a big piece of plastic. I think it has to hold more heat than no cover at all. Just my preference.

 

I would have to agree, anything blocking ventilation or the release of heat upwards will cause warmer temps under the hood.

 

Going down the road @ 60-70MPH isn't going to make a difference whether the engine is covered or not.

 

But sitting in hot traffic it sure will. Two sides to every story bud! I see you love to always challenge! I like healthy competition!

Oh of course it will in traffic, but still not alot.
