I have an 05 monte ls with the 3.4 engine, what type of exhaust mods have you done to your car.Would cutouts sound good coming from a 3.4. Should i take the res out? Any suggestions let me know.

 

high flow cat, rez delete and magnaflow or some other straight through design muffler. flowmaster muffs will give the best sound but will cause a lose in hp and mpg. cutouts would sound bad seeing as how it is a v6. if you have fast internet check youtube for 3.4 v6 exhausts and it will give you a rough idea of what to expect

 

the 3.4 will beat hte 3.8 in exhaust note anyday, not matter waht you choose. look for older V6 firebird and slowmaro exhaust sounds too...

 

The 99-05 Pontiac Grand Am and Oldsmobile Alero have the same V6 engine. When looking for sound bytes, try one of those. Should be very close to yours. The exhaust kits wont fit your Monte, but the muffler/resonator combos should be the same.

 

Ok say i put a hi flow cat, res delete and good muffler, is the u bend gonna mess with the sound?

 

a little.. might make it a tad quieter but nothing else.. barelly noticable if noticable by a computer.... take it out anyway for fun.

 

say i put a glass pack on, where after the cat would it sound best?

 

it will sound louder with less pipe after the glasspack, but sound clear and deeper with more pipe after the pack. all depends on what YOU want

 

they are generally louder the farther from the back of the car they are

 

im putting in a glasspack.... im doing it right before the tip. because i hear the packing will blow if its not too far from the cat.
