I went through the same thing and ended up just getting a letter. They said it was something to do with NASCAR...

 

Something to do with NASCAR? Or something to do with Theresa Earnhardt? I'm guessing Theresa Earnhardt.

I bought my Intimidator SS in 2007, and it did not have a certificate. I was able to get through to a very nice lady by the name of Ellen at Chevrolet's Heritage division, and she told me I had #2,909 of 4,000, and that my car was a corporate car that had not been sold as new. It had been owned by one person prior to me who did not have the certificate. They were able to issue me the certificate.

 

no luck, but I will be getting a letter. They will be putting the vin & #7 out of 2883 on it. Might try and track down the owner if the dealerships will cooperate.
The woman I spoke to said I can't receive the original because I have to be the original owner? I think thats what she said..her accent was so heavy!

My Dale Jr. is #473 and was built in March of 2004. I bought mine from the original owner so she still had the certificate and the original window sticker as well as the front liscense plate cover. She put the certificate in a picture frame so it's in excellent shape.

Yes, it had the original window sticker when her and her husband bought it new. It was not a cheap car. Here is a picture of it.

dang!! that is expensive! I got this car for a steal then at 50k miles!

 

In Canada, the Dale Jr editions were $45,000 new. Glad I didn't pay that either.
