I have an 03 SS and need a new trans. New factory is 3K. Anybody have a used one laying around I can rebuild? How about some suggestions, I have never replaced one before and I love my Monte, even with it's 180,000 miles.

You can find used ones anywhere.

I went through my mechanic (who had connections at a junk yard) and got a used one with a 1 year warranty for $500

Also, you can get your current one rebuilt (just stay away from AAMCO and such)
