Default 02 Monte Carlo Not Starting

I have an 02 Monte Carlo. Sometimes it starts fine, other times it wont start at all. When it doesn't start, I have to unhook the battery and rehook it. Then it starts fine, sometimes the security light will come on and stay on. Sometimes when I stop and turn the car off and take the key out, the inside lights flicker. The battery and all the connections are fine. I've tried to replace the passlock sensor and it wouldnt start at all. I have the old one back in. I have checked the codes when it wont start, when it starts with the security light on, when it starts when the security light isn't on and no codes show up. I have had multiple mechanics look at it and none have found the problem. This has been going on for about a year. It doesn't matter if its sat over night, or I just drove it, for not starting. Does anyone have any ideas???

Did you perform the relearn procedure after replacing the passlock sensor?

I did and it did not start. I put the old passlock sensor in, relearned the key and it started.

I am having the same problem...someone on here said to replace the ignition module and it worked for them. Others say thats not the problem, so we will see when I replace it tomorrow. Did you get yours fixed?

I tried that, it didn't work. I ended up replacing the BCM, that worked for about two weeks. Now it's not starting sometimes. I think that's just a loose connection on my battery though. I went to a salvage yard for the BCM and it was $30. Is yours working now?

We are having issues with our car not starting sometimes too. Started last fall. For about a year now my heater also didn't work one blower settings 1 & 2. If I try to lock my car it blows the fuse, sometimes the security light comes on. We replaced the resistor on the heater, now blower works on all but 4. Funny thing I have noticed when it won't start, the car will start in morning when cool after sitting all day in sun won't start and there is a clicking noise coming from under glove compartment, dome lights flicker and if I take key out still chimes. Have tried disconnecting battery waiting 10 minutes and reconnecting, sometimes that works other times not, then I am stuck waiting some 45 minutes before it starts.. We think bcm, but not sur. any suggestions.

Pekern... That's what mine was doing. I replaced the BCM and it worked. The not starting on mine now was a loose connection in the battery, nothing related to before. My car's locks, air/heat, lights, ticking, all of your items happened to mine. After replacing the BCM you need to reprogram it... this took about 30-45 minutes, I dont' remember. It's a lot of doing one thing waiting and then another. Then take it to the dealer to have them reset your radio... hopefully this works. Dont buy a new BCM, go to a salvage yard, difference of $100+, and the dealer should reset your radio for free... Let me know! Good luck! I know it's frusterating
