Just confirmed with Chevy and neither the front or rear are ceramic on 06-07 montes. They are semi-metallic.

Thank you `James,
For your confirmation, because I was really getting confused : )
(I know it doesn't take much for me 2 be conFuzed: )
I only post what I find on the web.
I will do more research, and re-read my previous post.
Peace
to the members, to the world.

Space that's what I was doing searching the web too. I couldn't find anywhere that specifically stated ceramic brakes on monte carlo. Just improved braking system etc. etc.

...other than ceramics are the best explanation for the dust-free rims.

thats wierd, i'll have to look when i get to work, because the o.e. standard on the 00-05 models is ceramic, so i couldn't see the 06-07 doing any different, its cheaper to do ceramic now anyway ...metalic is more money than ceramic

Ceramics were not standard equipment on 00-05 either whiz....I had a 2000 and it did not call for ceramics. Ceramics are not OE standard.

never mind, thats what i thought it was, because i dont sell metalic pads here barely, ceramic are cheaper, i sell about 50 sets of ceramic pads to 1 set of semi metallic

i read the wrong line, because underneath the ceramic it says oe but then underneath the metalic it says oe too...lol

One of the first things I noticed when I traded my 05 LT for my 06LT3was the major increase in Power over my 3.8, & the improvements to theanti- lockbrake system. I've reread my posts, and I never stated what material the brakeswere made of, just that they were improved. And, that's what matters most: )My 06felt more refined: the Engine/Braking/Suspension, but it should:
It is aupdated newerMonte Carloin Engine/Susp/Rims/Int/etc
I'm sure going from 16inch Tires/Rims, also contributed to the formula. If any member gets the chance to drive a 06/07 Monte Carlo, check itout and see for yourself. I loved my 05 LT, I just love my 06LT3 more : )Thanks to all the members that posted.I've learned more aboutmy Monte, & more about Brakes.`Space now, takes a Break : )

Well you have to remember one reason the 06-07s are more powerful, as I stated before, is because they are dual piston calipers on the front now which increases braking.
