In 2006 GM changed braked pads to help reduce brake dust and brake wear

The system provides more stopping power and reduced stopping distances, as well as smoother and quieter performance, longer pad life, and more resistance to brake pulsation. It also includes Electronic brake force distribution, which helps provide optimum braking regardless of load, traction or braking speed. RE: ~ Brake Dust Monte Carlo's ~
I have virtually NO brake dust, 80,000mi on my pads and rotors, and expect to get another 80,000mi on them, per my service tech. I have Hawk HPS pads, and Powerslot rotors. I have 2 sets of chrome rims, factory 17's and the Eagle 18's. I have my car washed every Friday, so it is clean for the weekend. I HIGHLY recommend the Hawk HPS pads.

My production Date on My LT3 is April 2006
It now has 9K `Happy miles.
I try to keep it in the garage, & ride my skateboard, or bike.
(My friend picks me up for work: )
Plus, I have limited yearly miles driven (under 6K a year) for
insurance discount. I am still under driving probation
for points (tickets) [X(]
Not in my Monte, but when I had my Hot Rod Honda VTEC : )

I ordered mine at the end of Sept / beginning of October of 2005... picked it up, drove it home on November 23rd 2005 at 3:30pm... and I'm just under 35k miles...
actually, that was the first time I was ever in a Monte - never sat in one, never test drove one, nuthin'... my drive home was my test drive LOL
