I did this to my '84 Camaro back in '99:

My dad fixed the mechanical end of it (and I was next to him getting tools and stuff). Him and I sourced all the parts to put it back together except the sheet metal. I paid a shop to do the body work.
And I heard a LOT of people tell me NOT to waste my time (one claim was it would never drive straight). That car drove so true from the moment it was back on all four wheels it was SICK (and a good feeling)!
Here's what I did to my Monte on June 29, 2001, just a little over a year after I got it. When this picture was taken, the bumper, header panel and headlight buckets were removed right after I got it home from me wrecking it. I cringe every time I look at this picture.
Has anyone ever bought a salvage car like these and fixed it up? I wouldn't mind finding a black one with a 3.8 in it that was crunched in the front and using my front clip to fix it. My quarter panels are starting to get some rust. It might actually be cheaper for to buy something like this and use my car for parts than to have my rust fixed and the car repainted.
