Thanks for the "howto", and especially the pics, they are excellent...

VERY nice how-to! I can't wait to get this ordered and installed!

My friend just got the K&N CAI for his '97 Mazda Miata and it just has the standard "piece of crap" heat shield that it comes with. If it wasn't for this awesome forum, I wouldn't have any idea about this cheaper, more effective heat shielded CAI.

Thanks MonteCarloForum!!

since my pcm chip is not the original, my tuning process is on hold till the speed shop`s request to GM to access it comes thru, still waiting, my only turbo option is at 12 000$ so thats a no go.,supercharger,,only way is a custom fit and runs more then the turbo, so in the end i will go thru CompCams one time custom Thumper Cam swap, question is is it worth it to buy a cam to change mine now, send in my original only to keep it for roughly 2-3weeks before the Thumper cam comes in? im asking cause here in quebec our taxes have gone up again as well as vehical resgistration, so again my plans are on hold. i thought over the CAI and decided not too as i dont want warm air coming in, after several speed shops that do sell and put them in told me,its really not worth it, the real kits are more expensive and the tube goes all the way down next to the tire. last thing i want is water going in it. Thanks for the great guide and photos. I was able to follow about 80% of it to install my Cold Air Inductions CAI.

Blazed, do you have any issues with getting water aspirated or in your CAI box when it rains or while while driving in the rain. I have the same hood as you and I get water in my CAI box. Thank you

I just went thru some problems with my car flooding/hydrolocking because my filter is in the fenderwell..

However, I have drove for years like that with no issues.. It was a BIG (i mean huge) puddle so.
