Those rails were only for special edition pontiac grand prix, 40th anniversary grand prix, and daytona grand prixs

So they are hard to find. And the ones you posted would most likely already have an adhesive to it, so you would just peel back and place in place of yours.

hey everyone i just finally installed my roof rails after having them sit in the garage all summer. i noticed when reading this thread that it mentions how to "pry off" the original molding. If you do not want to reuse them this is fine but i found another way that left the moldings just as they were on the car. All you need is an old credit card!

Step 1: Pull Back the rubber molding infront of the molding
Step 2: Slide your card inbetween the body and the molding
Step 3: Gently slide the card in a sawing motion down the legnth of the roof
Step 4: Remove old molding

Now if you ever wanted to sell your monte, you could take off the roof rails (sell them back to the community ) and slap the old molding back on with 3m foam tape and you'd be all set!

how difficult were they to install? Were they new rails or used. I've read horror stories about used ones being bent or twisted and hard to install properly. Did you use 3m tape or silicone or both? Got my eye on pair but worried about installation.
Thanks for any help

They are all always used. See how they are removed? That can slightly bend them, but it's not hard to bend it back.

Finally picked some up for $133 shipped...

Just arrived today in better condition than I expected from the pictures in the ad. Just need to clean 'em up and get the old adhesive/GP paint off the bottom of them and buff 'em out, but they are already painted black. Happy, happy, happy.
