I'm not sure cause I bought it off one of the members here - the bar might be and the brackets could be don rome. I have the GM bar in the rear with Don Rome brackets.

Do you HAVE to have brackets to put these on? GM part # 12456148. I see them on summit racing other places, appears it just comes with hardware, no brackets. BMR wants $140 a PIECE for theirs. They are nice, but damn they are proud of them!

Either brackets or drill holes i think. I got my stock one from a junk yard. 20 bucks.. but i had to pull it myself. Took a whole 2 mins though

I also use the don rome brackets on the rear

Yep, if you don't use the brackets you have to drop your struts and drill into the towers.

Nice write up.

However, now I have a few questions...

I've found a front brace:
1996 - 2006 W-Body | Strut Tower Braces | STB005 - Strut Tower Brace, Front | BMR Suspension - The Leader in High Performance Suspension & Chassis

but I'm looking for a rear brace, does anyone know where I can find one, and brackets?

Just so I get this straight....

I order two of the GM part: 12456148 (rear STB)
and two of the don rome brackets sets.

Then follow the instructions, and I can install these myself without having to drill holes, correct? Just have to get myself a torque wrench. And just want to make sure that what I'm getting into isn't a larger project than I think it is.

Bmr sells the rear brace as well. I'm not positive it fits but I just bought one and its sitting in the garage I will be installing soon. As far as a front stb I suggest the bmr, its the best stb on the market for our platform.

I will be installing this, new struts, and new rims & tires all at the same time. It's going to be lovely.
