Default Zzp 1.0 pcm

Just wondering if anyone has any input on one of these pcm's from zzp? I was thinking about getting one, but wanted to get a few opinions first.

You should find a lot of information on people that have them.

What year do you have?

What modifications have you done already?

I had an issue with the air bag light staying on after I installed the new PCM. I ended up sending back my Monte's original PCM and they modified it and everything works great. Great customer service and ZZP helped me through every step of the way.

I agree they aren't the best for the L67 Montes, but with the L36 they aren't bad.

to the OP, I would do more to the car before looking into a PCM. Look into things like a Downpipe, Powerlog, maybe and HV3 insert, some ER Ratio rockers. It's good to do these things then buy your tune.

Cool cool. Thanks for the advise and input guys. What's usually the expected performance gains with getting a pcm, assuming all the prior recommended mods have been made vs. not having having made those mods?

if you have the modifications then you will unlock their potential.

If you don't, then it's minimal, but you'll gain the downshifts and stronger shifting points. HP wise it won't be much though.

I dunno about Intense either- look at all the problems they had with people installing their PCMs and chunking pistons when the 04+ GP's came out.

I know a lot of people get incorrect pcms from zzp though- you'd figure they'd have a better way to check.

As far as pcm's go- the gain may be minimal, but IMO its worth it for all the changes they make. I've seen people spend up to $100 for electronic gimmicks that mimmick some of the functions of a pcm- so its not a bad mod in some respects.
