wont pull past 4500
Ok guys this is for my wifes 85 monte. It has a 350 4 bolt main flattops runs on 87 so cant be more than 9 to 1 compression. It has a performer intake a old school edel 600 shorty headers a great sounding 284 cam. heres the catch it revs to 6 under no load np. Its gear 2.73 one wheel pull with a built t 350 and 2800 stall. I cant get it to pull hard after 4500 when running down the road. Either the edel isnt staying in the back barrel or the cam doesnt have the valvesprings to match. Between 1500-4500 it pulls great a 40 punch it runs strong its just like it flattens out after 4500. With this big of a cam it should pull to 5500 shouldnt it? I also have a brand new 3.73 and auburn pos for it. Is that why it might not climb past 4500 that fast? I almost raced a 2009 titan 2 wheel drive with a programmer exhaust and air intake. I think i could have hung or took him from a roll. Definately not out of the hole that stall kills the hole right now. But it wont for long hehe. It just has major potential but think it should pull to 5000 with no prob what do you guys think?
i am going to asume thay with the 350 swap and eddy a vac advance dist base was installed, if not change it over if so check the diphram if it's shot it may let u get into the higher r's
