Whipple Monte Progress

Whipple Monte Progress
Figured I'd start a thread to keep track of progress on the monte as it goes back together. Right now its roughly at the 50% mark for completion to get it back on the road again. Now that it's getting nice out- I've got more motivation to get working on it so I can drive it again.
Stuff that has happened so far:
-stripped engine down to short block to replace leaky MLS head gaskets
-removed radiators
-dropped gas tank
-dropped exhaust
-numerous new parts ordered to go back on
-heads reinstalled with new gaskets
-new "LS7" lifters installed
-custom modded LIM reinstalled
Current parts on order:
-new gas filler neck (old one was totally rusted out)
-new gas tank (old one was rusty, and it was cheaper than the filler neck)
-new 1 1/4" radiator (to replace the stock 5/8" radiator)
Stuff that still needs ordered:
-Whipple bypass valve
-exhaust parts (the plan is to put on a resonator and much quieter muffler, then do a cutout- even with the mangaflow muffler on there now, it is way too loud)
-new fuel line (old ones are rusty- and I had to cut one of the flex lines at the tank because the plastic clip wouldn't release)
-AL valve covers (been keeping my eye out for used ones, but keep missing the good deals)
Couple quick pics:
Engine stripped down (mid summer pic)
As she sits now: (ignore the messy garage)
New cat
Temporarily rigging the twin walbros together for fit testing
Engine shot as she sits right now:
Cool pic:
IC reservoir and some IC heat exchanger fans:
That's about all for right now. The next big step is going to be getting the 2nd fuel pump mounted, and getting the new tank back in the car. After that will be running fresh fuel line. Soon thereafter I need to get the header flanges resurfaced (had leaks due to poor surface finish before)- because I need to get the headers back in before I start putting the top half of the engine back on.
I'll try and update as it goes. With the crazy hours at work- it'll probably be just a once a week thing for now...
