Default Where to buy a re-manufactured transmission?

Hi, I'm kinda new here (first time posting, but has been around the forums for a little bit). I'm just wondering what places you guys would suggest for buying a transmission. The one in my fathers 01 Monte is having some trouble (shift trouble and what we think is bearing noise) and we just wanted to replace it.

www.tripleedgeperformance.com is a great place if you are looking for a built transmission.

If all you want is a factory rebuild, you are better off finding a local transmission shop that is known for good work, and good prices and just having them rebuild it. Then you won't pay shipping fees. I think you should be able to have an entire rebuild done at a good tranny place for about $2,000, and that should include a decent warranty (at minimum 3yr 36,000 miles).

DO NOT TAKE IT TO AAMCO for a tranny rebuild, their work is not that great, and they charge upwards of $3,000 for a rebuild.
