Default What's this inside my intake box ??

So I went to go put a cold air intake on my 2005 Monte carlo ls. But when I took the front of the intake box apart. I was unwelcomed by a box sitting at the bottom with wires coming into it. What is this. ? Can I take it out and finish removing the intake box. Or is it important and need to stay covered ?
Please help !

That's the PCM for your car. Mine is out in the open, I put in a PCM tray from a blazer and screwed it into my car.

Disconnect your battery, and you can carefully remove unscrew the middle bolts for the PCM to finish taking the intake box out completely.

Ahh. Sweet. Thank you. Also, the back of the air box is still connected be what looks like tabs. Kind of a star shape. I believe there is 2 on the bottom. Any idea how to get the back off without just ripping it out lol?
