Do you use the HPS stuff? I do in my white car



As far as oil, I use 10W40 Royal Purple off the shelf + a good quality oil filter. I change it about every 10,000 miles or 1 year. my parents ran a Suburban like that for a LONG time on organic oil, 255,000 miles before they sold it, engine was still running okay (not strong), but okay, and when it did quit after the next owner was done with it, it was because a freaking wheel hub flew off of it.

 

Just the off the shelf stuff.There's less an less oil with enough zinc now a days for the older flat tappet cams.I mite look in to retro fit roller lifters in there if I can float the cash

 

Amsoil 0W-30 100% synthetic - Signature Series ... Period.

 

And Castrol Syntec 5W-30 (full synth), w/ 2qt. filter, in my 406cid SBC in my '82 El Camino.

 

5W-30 Pennzoil platinum w/ K&N filters since brand new

 

Run Redline 15-50 in my Turbo Monte and the Napa Gold filter. The shop that built my motor builds and runs dragsters and all they run is the Redline brand. Also I need a DEX VI rated fully synthetic tranny fluid and royal Purple does not have it and Redline does. Using this combo in a normal engine might be monetary over kill for a motor that does not get pushed to the extreme level like mine does.
