WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS?!?!
Im currently thinking about adding some mods to my engine (https://montecarloforum.com/m_83210/tm.htm) but am unsure if I should ad mods to it or get a new engine and when I saw this I was like wow, but I know theres a catch.... What do you think?

My logic is saying this, the engine has ALOT less mi than my current one (lol) The supercharger alone cost a whole lot more than there selling the engine. But I am curious as to whay type of supercharger comes on these engines?

Also,
"This engine has ~10,000 miles on it and ran well before a rocker bolt snapped."
That quote tells me that something isn't right, either the motor was abused, or the motor can't handle the mods. You will need heavier rockers and probably an ECM flash to handle the cam. Just be cautious and find out as much as you can about this motor. I'd hate to see you spend the money and get a motor that won't run correctly. Good Luck!
You do realize that is just a shortblock right? IE- its just a block, pistons, rods, crank, front cover, cam, etc- there are no heads, no supercharger, no anything else.
So if you put this in your car, you're goign to add a very tiny bit of power from increasing from your current 9.4:1 compression to the 9.5:1 that comes with (plus a tiny bit more power from being bored .020 over).
I dunno if the cam would help or hurt you-its a very mild cam made for a supercharged engine, so unless you plan to add a supercharger, I don't think it would help you much being NA.
Personally, I wouldn't say theres a catch at all. I know its a lot of money into it (figure $800 for the pistons, $750 for machine shop work, $300 in stock parts like the block and such, $100 for the head studs (minus nuts), and $300 for the cam- but it is a used engine. Not to mention rebuild 3800s are not very desireable at all. I'd be very weary of it unless they gave you the information about the shop- and it was a shop that has rebuilt 3800s before. These aren't as simple to rebuild as many machine shops think they are- and many end up spinning bearings and such. So I actually think $1200 for a short block from an unknown engine shop is actually pretty high priced IMO.
edit- not to mention it says there is absolutely no warranty- if you spend all day putting this thing in and it spins a bearing in the first block you drive it- you're screwed.
