what cam would be best for me?
i want to get a cam for my car if it would be a good investment. i dont need a real aggressive one, i dont plan on doing any hardcore work to it, just a few little things to boost the power a bit. im getting an edelbrock performer intake, do i need to upgrade my carb for a cam? i have the stock 4 barrel Q-jet and it works fine. anyways what cam would be best for me? or should i leave it stock? i want a little lope to the idle, and hopefully a slight boost in power

RE: what cam would be best for me?
i would go with a crane cams cam i think the part # is 100032
for that cam you dont have to do a tonne of work, check out crane cams on the net and you can search what you want, i think its the most common one out there

yeah go with the crane compu-cams they are numbered 2020,2030,2040,2050 they work great with a computer controled car
as for the q-jet i would put in diffrent secondaries (ck rods are good ) for a little bit more power it should match up good with that intake

thanks, im gonna look at crane's website (if they even have one, if not ill just check out Jeg's and Summit and stuff).
where can i find the CK rods carb secondaries?
i have another question about cams, a friend of mine has a built up 350 in his S-10, and he is telling me that putting in a cam will kill my gas mileage. but i didnt specify that i didnt want a real aggressive cam, and i think he assumes i mean one like he has where the engine almost stalls between "lopes". will a light cam effect gas mileage?
