my cars water pump crapped out so i picked a used one up from a friend and started to change it.... HOLY HELL!!! everything has to come off!!! good news is i eliminated my smog pump and all that garbage that goes with it. believe it or not it made a BIG difference in power. i started to get greedy and took the belt for the power steering off too, but it didnt really do much and its a PITA in parking lots so i put that back on. anyway it may not have been the easiest job to replace it, but im glad that pretty much anything u get off of one SBC will fit another. my water pump came from an 70s 307 out of a truck.
