any ideas?
Ive got a 2001 LS 3.4, im not the most mechanical guy lol, but i know a thing or two. Ive got about $400 to throw in and i was wondering what you would suggest. I was thinking about aflowmaster catbackkit my friend said he could get me for a discount but i guess that didnt turn out right.I was thinking a cold air intake,is that what you would choose too?My decision is between window tint + headlight and tailight covers, orwhatever is decided for performance.Your input is gladly appreciated [sm=smiley20.gif]

RE: any ideas?
buy parts to make your own cold air intake... all can be had for well under $100 most can get a very good setup for $50 my WWW has links and writeups for how to make a cood intake.
next, im selling my MAF housing that i used when i ran my 14.9 run at the track... thing is you will need a pcm tune to get the full benifit from this. asking $75 for it.
next get a dremal and learn to port match your TB and intake manifold. this can get you a very noticable gain.
you can look at 60degreev6.com for parts for your motor.... they have a store section they sell TBs and other parts that can greatly help.

IMO $400 isn't gonna get you very far ona 3400 unless you're able to do your own port work or something- but for off the shelf parts, you're not gonna get much gain with that engine for that little money. I'd probably spend it on appearance stuff instead. Maybe change the muffler if you want the exhaust to sound better.
