I'm not dissing, I'm trying to save this guy alot of money and headache. Corrosion from coolant? Why don't coolant passages corrode then, same type of metal? Pretty much everyone who's ever had the LIM off their 3800 has flooded their lifter valley with coolant- why don't our bottom ends all corrode away? Mine is fine, and I got some coolant into the oil when I put my blower on?

Bearings spin when coolant gets into the oil because the oil can't properly lubricate them, not because of corrosion. Remove the moisture and you're OK!

Nothing is going to corrode or crack! He could spin (probably WOULD) a bearing IF he drives it with coolant in the oil, but once fixed, he'd be fine.

OP, a compression test is a very easy procedure to perform. You can buy a test kit at any autoparts store for $20-40. Follow the instructions, they're easy.

One of my coworkers hydro-locked his 3800 completely a few years ago due to a bad LIM gasket- got it fixed, drove it for two more years and sold it.
