Default Vacuum Leak

Happy New Year everyone!
Does anyone know if there are any vacuum lines to the trans on an 02 SS? I've noticed that I not only have a runaway idle problem but the trans shifts irregularly.
Do anyone have a vacuum line schematic. When I search for one on the web it brings me to MCF threads links. Thanks B-)

To my knowledge there are no vacuum lines going to the 02 Monte tranny. I believe you all ready would have cheked your tranny fluid level, but have you smelt it to know if it is burnt out and no longer has any viscosity to it. Is it no longer the proper color. Perhaps you might be in need of a fluid change. You could try adding the "Lucas Stop Slip" tranny fluid conditioner as it frees stuck valves and re-news your fluids viscosity.

There are no vacuum lines going to the tranny, GM stopped putting vacuum modulators in W-bodies in the late 90's IIRC.

The irregular shifting is likely related to a failing solenoid (which entails a lot of work), but it could just need a fluid/filter change.

Thanks guys. Been so busy with work and home that my mechanic brain ain't up to par. So I really only have a runaway idle problem.

A surging idle could be anything from a faulty TPS or it's connection, dirty fuel filter, dirty air filter, a vacuum leak at the manifold. It's a process of elimination, go through and check over each item. The TPS seems to be the culprit on most occassions

TPS, Air Filter, IAC, MAP, Plugs and MAS have all been replaced. I haven't had the chance to do the Fuel filter or check for vacuum leaks or clean the Throttle Body since my heart attack. The idle gets harder to control as the engine gets up to nornal opp. temp. It also starts and stalls, surges, then wants to idle at 2200. On the tac, I can see the engine trying to slow down, to about 1500 when in nuetral or park. But then when I excelorate it tries to hold the highest rpm level. Like the cruise control is on and the brake peddle won't disengage it. But the Cruise is off. I know I will figure it out. And you guys/gals here on MCF have given me some great advice. As Zippy02 said, it's a process of elimination. Time and patients.
