Does anyone know where I could get these for my engine? I looked it up online but im not sure what exactly to look for. Even a pound will help performance! But yeah I think it would mainly just make the engine look a little better.

A guy on ClubGP.com is making light weight, aluminum replacement pulleys for the alternator, water pump, power steering pump and tensioner.

I received my box of pulleys middle of last week. They look really nice. I think the aluminum will look great on the Monte!! Not sure how much the light weight will really matter (I'm honestly doing it for the looks). Here's a pic of them!!

Jason will they work on ours??

Those look really good! Do you mind me asking how much they cost? I'm interested.

These pulleys are only going to be good for the 3800 crew (the tensioner/idler pulley may work on other platforms, but looking at the stock pulleys, they don't cross reference to the other engines seen in the Monte).

I'm PM-ing the guy to see if he can do pulleys for other drive trains. He mentioned the tough part is having an original pulley to start with (he made these doing a project for a friend). Once I have more, I'll share it along.

As for what I paid, well, I see he claims he has 4 sets left and if paid for before Friday, $165 a set (based on statement, I paid a little more but still worth it and part of being early to jump on something like this, but if I would have bought the same through other vendors, I would have paid a LOT more then I did for the set I have).

Pretty sweet you found a new 3800 engine mod, kind of rare to see something new show up anymore. They would do well for an engine dress up. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. Good job, lead the way the boss man!

I figured that I would add to this by saying that I did end up ordering a set of pulleys from him (although for some reason my set didn't include a tensioner pulley but no biggy) and figured that I should weigh them to compare weights with the stock pulleys.

So here's what the new pulleys weigh:

Alt: 2.87oz.
W/P: 8.86oz.
P/S: 10.50oz.

I don't know what the stock pulleys weigh yet, but I do have a ZZP w/p udp and ended up weighing it. It weighs 9.42oz. So the new w/p pulley weighs 6% less then ZZP's and has the same diameter. I'm pretty happy so far

Pretty cool that you also got a set Zipper!! And even cooler yet that you found this guy's W/P pulley weighs less then the ZZP one!!! I did this not so much for weigh savings but the look. Regardless, I think when it's done, it will be a complete win! I want to see if I can replace the nuts and bolts with stainless before I go forward with this in the spring.
