Default turbo concerns

I'm new to this so i'm looking for some input. I have an 03 monte ss and i'm looking to turbo charge it. What would be a good charger to use? I was looking at a Garrett, but not sure what size or how much boost will be safe. All i have done to my car is an custom exhaust, cold air induction, new coils, wires and plugs. What kind of project will i be getting into if i do this? Thanksw

It makes no sense to try and customize it yourself unless your are an experienced fabricator who understands how to make power with turbo systems. Since you don't even know where to buy a bare turbo from, IMO- you're much better off buying a kit. They have a ton of R&D into these things to make them mostly bolt ons, and to also make a setup for any power level you want.

400 hp IC'd with a max of a 62mm turbo

If thats not enough:

up to a T76 and 500+ whp

I honestly doubt you could beat those power output numbers without a significantly higher amount of money put into it from trial and error.

I agree with bumpin...by the time you actually spend the money on ur own kit to try and produce the horsepower you would receive with either of the 2 kits...ull have cost urself much more
