I went and grabbed a little pump from the store, I'm going to attempt to get it to the right level. Probably going to chew my mechanic a new behind when he gets back. Wish I would have known 4000 miles ago, hopefully nothing got damaged.

Update: Went out this morning and pumped out some transmission fluid what a pain in the a$$, got the level down quite a bit, it is still overfilled but not by much, took it for a drive afterward and it drives the same as it did before. I put the excess in a coffee can its up to that red line. Now I just have to ask the mechanic why was it overfull, thanks for the help everyone, Nick.

Wow, that looks like quite a bit of fluid...1.5 quarts ish? I had a Bonneville with the same tranny as our Monte's, and that tranny got overfilled (and was for about 20K)...it started whinning badly. Once I realized and corrected the level, it stopped whinning, fortunetly, wasn't damaged.

And I agree, quit going to Jiffy Lube, they suck IMO. They over charge and don't always do the work they charge you for. Not to mention the filters they use are garbage.

Where does everyone go for oil changes then? Not really equipped to do it at home, and I don't know how.

I change my own...

You probably would be surprised how reasonable the dealer is actually. You can probably go to a GM dealer for about $30-40 bucks.

I do my own as well. You'd be surprised how easy it is to pick up a set of ramps and drive up on them and change the oil. Saves a good bit of money, which in turn can allow you to purchase better lubricants thus extending the life of your internals. I mean there is the up front cost of the ramps, and a filter wrench, but after about 3-4 oil changes you can negate that with the savings.
